DDS MISSION:

Provide innovative high quality services that enable people with disabilities to lead meaningful and productive lives as vital members of their families, schools, workplaces and communities in every neighborhood in the District of Columbia.

DDS VISION:

The Department on Disability Services (DDS) is a cabinet-level agency within the District of Columbia Government, dedicating itself to providing information and supports to meet the needs of people with developmental disabilities and their families. The agency also provides comprehensive vocational and independent living services to persons with disabilities to promote their opportunities for employment, economic self-sufficiency, and independence.

The DDS Online Policy Manual was established to support the Agency’s mission and to provide employees, stakeholders, and interested parties access to the mainstay of the Agency’s practice standards regarding accountability for compliance with all applicable legal requirements.
